Alton is the premier cricket club in North Hampshire. We are a large club with over 70 playing members. We run four senior Saturday sides, two Sunday sides, plus Under 17's, 15's, 13's and 11's colts teams.
Our 1st XI are playing in the Southern League this year after gaining promotion last season,
2nd XI are in County Four,
3rd XI in East Two and the
4th XI in the Hampshire Combination.
Our grounds, Jubilee Playing Fields are located just off the A31 at the Winchester end of the Alton by-pass.
This year we have high hopes; the 1st XI are competing in the Southern League for the first time whilst all the other teams are looking for promotion from their respective divisions. The club is inviting Chris "Tossa" Torissi back for a third season to assist with the coaching as well as to hit the odd run or two batting at number 3 for the 1st XI.
As with all clubs we are looking to raise money for various projects. Within the net five years we will have to relay our main square (not a cheap exercise), we are also looking to improve the facilities at the club house, support a professional coach and generally improve the playing conditions and surroundings at the club.
